Potomac MD homes September sales increase, while the average home sale price loses ground.

The number of Potomac MD homes sales during September 2012 increased 3% compared to September 2011, and 6% compared to September 2010. Year to date home sales are mixed as the number of home sales year to date through September 2012 increased 1% compared to the same period 2011, and decreased 1% compared to the same period 2010.

Potomac MD homes under contract continues to outpace previous years (55% increase compared to September 2011 and 19% increase compared to September 2010). Year to date through September 2012 Potomac homes under contract also out pace previous years (increase 8% compared to the same period 2011, and increase 2% compared to the same period 2010).

The number of homes listed in Potomac MD during September decreased 4% compared to September 2011, and decreased 10% compared to September 2010. The number of homes listed year to date through September 2012 decreased 3% compared to the same period 2011, and decreased 15% compared to the same period in 2010.

The average Potomac MD home sale price for homes that sold during September 2012 ($1,000,481) decreased 1% compared to September 2011, and decreased 2% compared to 2010.
