As development moves forward and traffic seems to be increasingly congested – you might be wondering what planners have in mind for Bethesda MD?  Montgomery County Planning Department has the Bethesda Plan posted for all to see

According to a document on the site titled, “The Future of Bethesda,” The vision for Bethesda is “a bustling downtown ringed by quiet neighborhoods, where residents watch a play or visit an artist’s studio, eat at ethnic restaurant, or sit at an outdoor cafe, meet friends while shopping on the main street or the farmer’s market, listen to a band concert in summer or ice skate in winter in the center of town. They can catch the Metro to the capital or walk to work on brick sidewalks under leafy trees…

The plan describes land use, housing, economic activity, transportation, environment, community identity and design, and regionalism.  Other plans, stats and figures are posted on the site as well.
